I know the dinner time tantrums very well! I am a mother of three also (ages 8, 6, and 4). It used to be my middle child who would fuss over dinner, but now it’s mostly my youngest. With her, the challenge is mostly soup. To her, the word “soup” is synonymous with “I don’t like it”. Which is a shame because the rest of us love soup and it’s a guaranteed hit with the rest of us. For a while, I stopped making soup altogether just so I wouldn’t have to deal with the histrionics but last week with the return of the colder weather i thought “It’s time to stop letting her dictate our menu plan.” I made a beautiful corn chowder with biscuits on the side. She screamed and kicked and made a scene for 45 minutes, then sat down and ate the whole bowl! On the menu tonight? Curried butternut squash soup with naan. We’ll see how it goes…

So how was the soup?
