A friend’s bar on Peck Slip (South St. Seaport) was demolished by the surge that Sandy brought. They prepared but nothing could keep the debris from knocking out the windows and bringing 7 feet of salt water into this wonderful New Zealand-themed restaurant. Pauli, was a well-known bartender from American Trash and the Gaslamp prior to opening Nelson Blue (named after his home town of Nelson, in the north of the Southern Island) and an avid skydiver — and just such a lovely bloke. He brings a smile to everyone he serves and now deserves some help.
